Happy Birthday to ME!!!

At 4:23 this afternoon, I officially turned 27 years old. I have had some rough odd number birthdays in the past but this one has been great! I woke up to Serg saying "Happy Birthday, sorry I was snoring in your ear" and received an amazing present:
Then I went to the nail salon and got perfect Shellac Gel French Manicure... There are very few things that make me happier than a great manicure.

I drove over to The Mall at Short Hills for lunch with my sister & mom at Joe's where my mom whipped out my baby album and gave me a play-by-play of the day I was born. (She does this EVERY year). My sister & mom also gave me amazing gifts from Henri Bendel:
And a pair of earrings that I can't find online but they're hoops with stone clusters that look like these:
I bought myself a small gift from Nordstrom:

Then tonight, we had a delicious dinner at Ginger Sushi with my mom (my dad's on a business trip) & our friends Catherine, Kevin, & Laura.
This is the first odd number birthday in 12 years that has been drama-free! I couldn't be a happier birthday girl :)

Christmas Eve!

Christmas Eve is a big deal in my family. My parents always throw a huge dinner and we get to open gifts at midnight. Then on Christmas morning, my sister & I open "Santa" gifts.

This year, things will be low key. My parents are only having a family dinner with my sister and me and Sergio. Serg & I will be spending the night and bringing Fifi along. I've been so caught up with wedding things, I never really had a wishlist this Christmas. I really have no idea what Serg could've gotten me. Last year, the Cricut was an AWESOME present... I wonder what he has in store for me tonight :)

I hope everyone has an amazing Christmas filled with love and peace with their families!

Peace + Love + Joy - Shutterfly Promo

I finally decided on sending out a regular Christmas card and not combining it with a Save the Date. I consulted with a couple of friends if sending a photocard for Christmas then a Save the Date in late February would be overkill and they said "Nope!" They could've been politely lying to me but we have so many awesome pictures that I kinda don't care if it's overkill, lol.

Here's the card & picture I ended up going with:
Did you send a holiday card this year?

Two Birds, One Gorgeous Photo Card - Shutterfly Promotion for Bloggers!

Ever since Sergio & I got engaged, I've been envisioning different ideas for our Save The Dates. With the holidays coming up, I started to think about meshing our Christmas card and STD into one. Shutterfly has so many gorgeous options for holiday cards, it's hard not to consider a multipurpose mail out. I've used Shutterfly in the past for cards and photobooks and their products are always high quality and quickly delivered. Lucky for bloggers, they have a 50 Free Cards promotion! How awesome is that? Now the only problem is deciding which of the 805 designs to choose from. They truly have something for everyone's design taste. Since Serg and I just got our engagement photos done this weekend, I definitely want a photocard. Want to help me narrow it down?

I love the pattern on this one: Retro Chic Christmas Card

Love, love, love this one: Cranberry Joy Christmas Card

And this one too! Frosted Frame Christmas Card

You can find all their awesome designs here: Shutterfly Christmas Photo Cards. Believe me, it'll be a tough choice!

You've Got Mail!

I never thought a mailbox would make a drastic difference to the front of our house. Serg changed our yucky, dirty, plastic white mailbox to a brand new black shiny one this weekend. As soon as I saw how great it looked, I knew adding a personalized touch would make it even more awesome. So I turned to my good friend, The Cricut Expression and cut out some white vinyl.
Doesn't it look great? Only thing is... am I embracing my future last name too soon? lol Maybe I should add a little hyphen for now. Thoughts?

Keep Calm for Halloween

I love the "KEEP CALM AND CARRY ON" poster in our hallway. It's the perfect little saying in the perfect location (right outside our office).
So when I saw this adorable Halloween rendition, I couldn't help but use it somehow.
So I made a little Halloween card:

I'm still trying to figure out where to put a larger one in our house. Thoughts?

Engagement Party Invites

And the wedding madness begins... My parents are hosting us an engagement party and I decided to make my own invites. I wanted a funkier look so I went with green & gray hounds-tooth (maybe I was channeling Mondo from Project Runway, lol) and a touch of light blue. It took FOREVER to get my Cricut to cut around the wording perfectly and after 1389239 index cards in the garbage, this is what I got:

Looks like my Cricut will be in overdrive for the next year...

He asked on Friday... & I said YES (duh).

I'm going to try really hard not to bombard the blog with wedding stuff!  :)

Ghaulish Halloween Candy Vases

Have I mentioned I love putting vinyl on things? Well, I do. So why not buy a bunch of glass vases in different shapes & sizes @ DollarTree and stick some black vinyl on them? OK!

Now if only I could get Serg to stop eating all the candy, lol.

Spooky Center Piece

I follow a crapload of blogs and just about everyday something catches my eye that I feel like I must try. Well, this awesome center piece from Hostess with the Mostess is definitely one of them.
I ran out to our giant backyard and picked up as many long twigs & branches I could find. When Serg saw me with an armful, I simply let him know I was FINALLY helping with yardwork ;) Since there have been a couple catastrophes with spray paint and I wasn't feeling particularly patient to wait for paint to dry (surprised?), I decided to leave them their natural bark-y color. Then I cut out a couple of circles on my Cricut in black, orange, and purple cardstock. Since I have SCAL, I downloaded a Halloween dingbat font, cut out a couple of shapes, slapped them onto my circles, added a ribbon... and VIOLA! My very own Halloween Tree!

I feel like something's missing... I'm sure I'll figure something out before our very first Halloween party on October 23rd! I'm definitely going to be adding a banner to the table.
Any suggestions?

Halloween Ribbon Wreath

I was dying to put something on our door for Halloween so when I ran across this tutorial @TheLongThread, I was in heaven. I purchased a 10inch foam wreath at DollarTree and about 6 spools of different ribbon at JoAnns. Then I plopped myself in front of the TV, hoping Teen Witch would miraculously be on (it wasn't) and started cutting & tying. In about 20 minutes, I was done! I thought it was missing a little something so I hot glued 2 furry spiders I also picked up at DollarTree and cut out some spooky letters with my Cricut.

I think it's boo-tiful (hehe).

Happy Birthday Sergio!!

My awesome boyfriend turns 29 today! Happy Birthday Sergio!
Since he wasn't too thrilled about turning 29, I decided to make him a funny card...
Along with a new watch for his collection:
Happy birthday my love! I wish you nothing but happiness and laughs all year. I can't wait to celebrate more birthdays with you! <3

Dreaming of Organized Pantries...

When I was younger, I used to say that my dream house had a circular driveway with a fountain in the middle. Although, it would be nice (I don't like backing out of driveways, lol), I have changed my home desires for more practical and realistic things: a pantry and a mudroom.

Ever since I've become a homeowner, I've become obsessed with pantries and mudrooms. Maybe it's because these are ideally organized and often use labeled bins? Whatever it is, I NEED a pantry and a mudroom at our next house.

Can you imagine how much fun it would be to put one of these together?
Serg would never have to ask me where anything was ever again! (Ok, maybe that's completely unrealistic...)

Since we do not have a pantry yet, I decided to at least organize with the space we have... I had been keeping our flour, sugar, etc. in plastic ziploc bags and that really wasn't cutting it. So I made a little stop at IKEA yesterday and picked up a couple of these jars.

With a little help of Sure Cuts A Lot, my Cricut, and some black vinyl, I was able to whip these up for an open shelf in our kitchen.
Not quite a pantry... but it'll do... for now.
